For Boiling Pasta:
1 packet of Milletable Millet Pasta
Boiling hot water
A pinch of salt
For Tomato and Veggie Sauce:
2 tablespoons of butter
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, minced
2 large tomatoes, pureed
1 teaspoon of chili powder (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon of salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder
1 cup of broccoli florets
1 cup of mushrooms, sliced
4 tablespoons of water
For White Sauce:
1 teaspoon of butter
1 tablespoon of Millet Flour
1 cup of soya milk
Salt and pepper to taste
For Topping:
Grated cheese (as per preference)
Step 1 - Boil Pasta:
1. In a large pot, bring boiling hot water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.
2. Add the Milletable Millet Pasta to the boiling water and gently cook it according to the package instructions.
3. Once cooked, drain the pasta, rinse it under cold water, and set it aside.
Step 2 - Prepare Tomato and Veggie Sauce:
1. In a pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter and heat it.
2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until they become translucent.
3. Make a puree of the tomatoes and add it to the pan.
4. Stir in chili powder, salt, turmeric powder, and garam masala powder. Mix well.
5. Add broccoli and mushrooms to the mixture.
6. Add 4 tablespoons of water, cover the pan, and let it cook until the veggies are tender. Set the mixture aside.
Step 3 - Prepare White Sauce:
1. In another pan, add 1 teaspoon of butter and heat it.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of Millet Flour and fry it for a minute.
3. Slowly add 1 cup of soya milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
4. Season the white sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Set it aside.
Step 4 - Assemble and Bake:
1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
2. Grease a baking tray.
3. Start assembling the bake by layering it. First, add the tomato and veggie sauce.
4. Then, add the boiled Millet Pasta.
5. Finally, pour the white sauce on top.
6. Sprinkle grated cheese generously over the top layer.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese turns golden brown.
Step 5 - Serve:
1. Remove the Cheesy Millet Pasta Bake from the oven.
2. Serve it hot, scooping it out with a spoon and savouring the creamy, cheesy goodness!
